Neston Cricket Club is one of the North West's premier sporting clubs offering excellent facilities for cricket, hockey, tennis and squash. We have approximately 1000 members, of which, over 80% are active playing members and over 330 are juniors. All juniors receive free coaching in cricket, tennis, squash and hockey and some members have gone on to represent their county and even their country. Each sport within the club is run as an individual section with their own Committee, however the overall management of the club is undertaken by the Club Council. This web site contains information relating to the cricket section only. The section has a reputation for cricketing excellence and for continually developing and encouraging junior and womens cricket. We have approximately 100 senior male, 40 female and 150 junior players. Throughout the summer we run six senior mens teams, a womens side and eight junior teams at ages 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 21. In 1998 the mens sides played for the first time in the Cheshire County League after many years of success in the Liverpool Competition. In 2004 the first eleven will compete in one of the first ECB approved County Premier Leagues. The men also compete in the Chester and District Midweek Cricket League, the women play in the National Womens League and the junior sides play in both the Wirral Junior Cricket Competition and the Cheshire County League. I'm Dave Collyer and I'm hoping to keep this site up to date with fixtures, results, reports, contacts, in fact as much useful (or even useless !) information about cricket at Neston as possible. If you have any information, suggestions or contributions they would be most welcome. Please email me at dc@nestoncc.co.uk or phone me on 0151 336 1753. |
