DETAILS OF 2002 COMPETITION There has been an entry of 38 of the county's senior clubs. Other first-round highlights include New Brighton v Hale Barns, while Merseyside Competition champions Birkenhead St Mary's go to Alderley Edge. The star second round game is undoubtedly the clash of Liverpool Competition giants Wallasey, who won the competition in 1998-99 and 2000 and the leading Cheshire County League club, Bowdon. Elsewhere Caldy host Alsager, Widnes go to Winnington Park, Chester Boughton Hall host Congleton, Warrington are at home to Upton and Old Parkonians meet near neighbours Irby. For the first time, matches will. be of 45 overs per innings, instead of 40 and players not eligible for England will be able to play if they have resided in the U K for two years.
