To have a look around one of the nicest grounds in the country scroll across our panorama of Neston CC
This panorama of Neston Cricket Club was taken on Saturday 10th July 1999 prior to the 1st XI game against Hyde. As you can see it was marquee week (it's not always there) and the night after the summer ball. If you look carefully the figure staggering towards the left end of the marquee is none other than our ex club captain Stan Clifford. Knocking up in front of the marquee are players from Hyde.
For those of you who don't know the ground the club house is to the right of the marquee - panning right - behind the wooden fence are the tennis courts and beyond them the 3rd XI ground - the scorebox is not very clear but it is above the cover - along the bottom boundary is the tree lined Manorial Road with the Old Quay pub car park just about visible before the white terraced cottages (if you could see more clearly through the trees the saltmarsh of the Dee Estuary and the Welsh hills are there !) - the white terraced cottages and the black and white fronted houses are on the Parkgate Road - then you come past the entrance to the club from Parkgate Road and back round to the marquee behind which is the bowling green.
And this is what the ground looks like from the air !!
